Can’t login into Synology by ssh
Several months ago I find I can’t login into my Synology DS216j anymore via ssh.
Avogadro's law equation. I used my private key to login but I got Permission denied (publickey) as responds.
I have modified sshd_config on the NAS so there was no other methods to login into it.
I am not sure if this is related but there are quite many users have this problem, according to this discussion thread:
Homebrew Latex2rtf
Since there is no built-in terminal in DSM, I looked around to find a way to edit the sshd_config without ssh. And the answer is pretty much simple: just turn on telnet, login-in via telnet to modify sshd_config, and turn off telnet.
Where can i watch knives out. Done.

Install Homebrew
Paste that in a macOS Terminal or Linux shell prompt. The script explains what it will do and then pauses before it does it. Read about other installation options. What Does Homebrew Do?
Homebrew installs the stuff you need that Apple (or your Linux system) didn’t.- Homebrew installs packages to their own directory and then symlinks their files into
/usr/local
. - Homebrew won’t install files outside its prefix and you can place a Homebrew installation wherever you like.
- It’s all Git and Ruby underneath, so hack away with the knowledge that you can easily revert your modifications and merge upstream updates.
- Homebrew complements macOS (or your Linux system). Install your RubyGems with
gem
and their dependencies withbrew
. - “To install, drag this icon…” no more. Homebrew Cask installs macOS apps, fonts and plugins and other non-open source software.
